History:
Following nearly a decade of mergers, technological enhancements and enormous industry growth, the three leading local search websites -- SMARTpages.com (SBC Communications Inc.), RealPages.com (BellSouth Corporation) and YellowPages.com (independently owned) -- were combined between 1997 and 2005 to create a new leading local search site --- YELLOWPAGES.COM, which eventually evolved to become YP.com, the new YELLOWPAGES.COM, AT&T Interactive's flagship web property.
Formed as a local search joint venture 2005 and renamed in 2008, AT&T Interactive carries on the responsibility of bringing buyers and sellers together for mutual benefit. This ability is based on its genesis and core strengths in local search -- and resulting business and technological prowess.
AT&T Interactive provides customers counsel and guidance on what information to include on their YP.com ad as well as on their own business online placement websites and SEM programs.
